Auditions for Great River Chorale’s 2024 – 25 concert season will be held on Tuesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 9 from 5:30 – 8 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN. We have several openings in the tenor and bass sections, but only limited openings in the soprano and alto sections. WE’RE STARTING A NEW TREBLE CHOIR!
Great River Chorale is excited to announce the inaugural season of a new auditioned adult treble choir for sopranos and altos starting this fall. Our new treble choir will rehearse separately from the mixed choir and will perform on GRC’s holiday and spring concerts as an independent ensemble. Musical expectations and standards are identical to those for GRC’s mixed choir, but the time commitment will be less. Prospective members (sopranos and altos) may choose to audition for one or both of the choirs, but will only be considered for membership in one of the choirs.
GENERAL AUDITION INFORMATION
1. Prepare an art song, folksong, music theater song or hymn in English or another language.
2. Memorization isn’t required, but you must bring an extra copy of the music for the pianist.
3. Your vocal range, aural recall, sight reading and rhythmic reading abilities will be checked.
4. Arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the audition and availability forms.
